Born in 1896, William Fitzgerald Jenkins or as he is better known under his scifi pen-name Murray Leinster was an active writer from the 1919 publication of his first short story about a building falling back in time, “The Runaway Skyscraper,” until 1970. His longevity and consistency earned him the title, ‘The Dean of Science Fiction.’ Leinster died in 1975.
LeinsterΓÇÖs first series was the four-title set Masters of Darkness or Preston-Hines superscience-blackmail stories printed in the The Argosy in 1929-30. His better-known Bud Gregory series and Med Service sequence appeared in the 50ΓÇÖs and 60ΓÇÖs.
